Stan James World Matchplay champion James Wade, the number three seed, has drawn in-form Denis Ovens, while 2004 World Grand Prix winner Colin Lloyd faces Dennis Priestley in perhaps the tie of the first round.
Irish qualifiers Billy Matthews, John Elder, Jason Barry and James Keogh all drew top-drawer opposition in John Part, Mervyn King, Andy Jenkins and Adrian Lewis respectively.
2001 runner-up Roland Scholten will take on Kevin Painter, while Colin Osborne will make his World Grand Prix debut against Chris Mason.
