REPORTS from Tuesday's play at the Bullit World Darts Trophy, with the second round getting underway with four matches on the night.
Gary Anderson 3-1 John Part
Gary Anderson's bid for a second major title continued with a quality 3-1 victory over John Part in round two of the Bullit World Darts Trophy.
Anderson checked out 60 percent of his doubles, including a 151 finish to win the first set 3-1.
Part responded well to take the second set without reply and level the match, which only seemed to spur Anderson on.
The Scotsman took out a 142 finish to break a 1-1 deadlock in the third, and won the set with a 111 checkout.
Part led 1-0 in the next set, but missed darts to double his advantage and Anderson won the next three legs to complete his win.
Andy Hamilton 3-0 Jelle Klaasen
Andy Hamilton powered into the last eight of the Bullit World Darts Trophy with a straight sets victory over Holland's Jelle Klaasen.
Klaasen ended the hopes of World Champion Raymond van Barneveld in round one, but failed to hit the heights of that display against the WDT newcomer.
Hamilton came from 2-1 down to win the first set in a decider after Klaasen missed darts in leg four to move ahead.
Klaasen also led 1-0 in the next before Hamilton took three in a row to double his lead.
The Dutchman produced a classy 140 checkout to win the opening leg of the third set, only for back-to-back legs from Hamilton to put him on the brink of the win.
Klaasen battled to stay in the contest by winning the fourth leg, but Hamilton was too strong with the darts in the decider to book his quarter-final berth.
Martin Adams 3-1 Dennis Priestley
Martin Adams edged out Dennis Priestley to book his place in the quarter-finals of the Bullit World Darts Trophy with a 3-1 victory in Utrecht.
Adams, the runner-up to Phil Taylor a year ago, proved the more clinical of the two World Champions to set up a last eight clash with Andy Hamilton on Thursday.
Adams took the first leg of the game against the throw and doubled his lead before Priestley got off the mark with a 158 checkout and then levelled the set.
But he paid for a missed dart to move 1-0 up as Adams stepped in to take the deciding leg, a story which was repeated in set two when all five legs when with the darts.
Adams broke Priestley's throw again in the opener to set three, but the Yorkshire hit back in style with three successive legs to pull back a set.
Adams, though, had the throw in set four and led 2-1 before another break put him into the last eight.
Peter Manley 3-2 Simon Whitlock
Peter Manley produced a brilliant final set to edge out Simon Whitlock 3-2 and win a place in the quarter-finals of the Bullit World Darts Trophy.
The former Las Vegas Desert Classic champion won the final set of their game 3-0 with three sensational finishes to set up a last eight date with in-form Gary Anderson on Thursday.
Whitlock pipped the first set 3-2, coming from behind with an 11 darter and a 128 finish to move 1-0 up.
Manley then edged the second set 3-2 in a decider on double ten, and then included a 101 checkout in taking the third to lead the game 2-1.
Whitlock punished misses in successive legs from Manley to take a 2-0 lead in the fourth, with the Australian taking the set 3-1 to send the game into a decider.
But Manley produced three moments of magic to take himself through in set five.
He landed a 97 finish to win the opening leg, with Whitlock having missed darts at double top, before then checking out 117 in the second with his opponent again sat on 40.
Whitlock was also sat on a double - needing 36 - in the next only to see Manley take out 95 for a superb win.
