THE draw for the Ireland Open Classic, to be played at the TF Royal Hotel in Castlebar on Sunday 9 September.
Wayne Mardle, who won last weekend's Peachtree Open Pro Tour event in Atlanta, has been drawn on one of the toughest boards, with Dave Honey his first opponent and Steve Maish, Steve Brown and Wayne Atwood also in his group.
Defending champion Mick McGowan (pictured) will open his challenge against either Robert Fletcher or Ricky Dunlop, with Alan Tabern and Tony Eccles joining him on Board 15.
Kevin Painter, the beaten finalist last year, faces either Andrew Coulter or Colin Strong, while number one seed James Wade meets Freddie Harper in his opener.
The participation of some leading players is dependant on their progress in the Bullit World Darts Trophy in Holland, with the final of that tournament coinciding with this £20,000 Players Championship.
The tournament will begin at 1pm, with registration before 12.45pm.
