ADRIAN LEWIS warmed up for the Bullit World Darts Trophy by taking part in the inaugural RAC Charity Track Day Challenge on Tuesday.
Lewis joined a host of other celebrities at the Rockingham circuit in Northamptonshire to raise money for the Cauldwell Children's charity.
The world number seven was joined by former Eastenders actor James Alexandrou (Martin Fowler in the soap) and Queer Eye For The Straight Guy star Julian Bennett in a series of motoring tests.
Lewis took time out from his preparations for a first round clash with John Walton in the World Darts Trophy in Utrecht on Sunday to go behind the wheel of some high-powered motor-racing cars.
The stars were accompanied by Team RAC drivers Colin Turkington and Tom Onslow-Cole, who compete in the Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship.
Tasks on the day included high speed single-seater racing, rally driving, 4x4 and even a tyre change challenge, with over £15,000 being raised for charity on the day.
"It was a very exciting day and all for a wonderful cause," said Lewis.
"Having experts on hand in Team RAC made it a great experience for everyone taking part and I was pleased with my performance on the day!"
Alastair Pegg, Director of RAC Marketing, commented: "We were very excited about our RAC Charity Track Day Challenge and it was a wonderful day for all involved.
"We felt it only right that as sponsors of Team RAC we used our motorsport expertise to assist a very worth cause this season.
"The event also corresponds with our 'RAC to the rescue' campaign, which we have integrated into our sponsorship activity this season.
"Through this we've assisted a wide variety of audiences including our drivers, motorsport fans, media and now charities.
"I'd like to thank Rockingham for all their assistance in the event, Adrian for his support on the day and Caudwell Children's charity, who I hope thoroughly enjoyed the day."
Other celebrities involved in the day included former Olympic rowing gold medallist James Cracknell OBE, Welsh athlete Iwan Thomas, Radio 1 DJ Jason King (JK) and star couple Andy and Michelle Scott-Lee.
Trudi Beswick, Chief Executive Officer for Caudwell Children, added: "We are delighted that RAC have chosen us as the dedicated charity for their Charity Track Day Challenge event.
"We would like to thank all of the celebrities who will be taking part in the event on behalf of the charity for giving up their time, which helped us raise vital funds to help even more special needs children in the UK."
