THE winner of the 2007 Caribbean & South American Masters will be handed a place in the PDPA Qualifiers for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
Vivekanand Dyal won last year's tournament and travelled to Villa Park in a bid to win a World Championship place - going down 5-3 to experienced professional Kevin Spiolek.
He will be joined by previous qualifiers Norman Madhoo, Anthony Forde and Winston Cadogan in attempting to win this year's event at the start of November.
As the standard of darts in the Caribbean continues to rise, new stars Rahaman Hassanalli, Sudesh Fitzgerald and Roger Edwards are also expected to challenge for the title.
The winner will travel to England only weeks later to join the PDPA members competing for eight places in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.
The date and venue for the PDPA Qualifiers has yet to be confirmed.
The Carib Beer Caribbean & South American Masters forms part of the now-annual Barbados Darts Festival, which is hosted by three-time World Champion John Lowe and features a range of competitions during the 11 days.
Organised by the Caribbean Darts Organisation, the Masters Darts Club and supported by the Barbados Tourism Authority, the Tourism Development Council and commercial sponsors, it will take place from 25 October-5 November.
"There is no better place for a darts holiday than Barbados," said Lowe.
"My wife Karen and I love it and we have made some great friends there. It's a trip of a lifetime and once experienced, you are bound to want to go back."
Prices to attend this year's Barbados Darts Festival begin from £850 per person (based on two people sharing a room).
