FOUR former World Champions will be among the 173 players competing for a place in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship PDPA Qualifiers on Saturday.
The PDPA Qualifiers will be held in the Holte Suite at Villa Park, the home of Premiership side Aston Villa, with a midday start.
The 16 Board Winners will progress to the 64-man Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, which begins on 18 December and has a £500,000 prize fund.
Five-time World Champion Eric Bristow will head a stellar cast at Villa Park, joined by three-time winner John Lowe and two other former champions, Keith Deller and Richie Burnett.
Former World Matchplay winners Peter Evison and Rod Harrington have put behind them their injury problems to compete, alongside two-time World Grand Prix finalist Shayne Burgess.
Belgium's Erik Clarys will make a surprise return to action, only three weeks after undergoing a seventh operation on the elbow injury which has kept him out of action since June.
Clarys will be one of the 16 seeds for the event after slipping out of the top 32 in the world rankings, with Dennis Smith the number one seed.
PLEASE NOTE (Added 28/11): Erik Clarys has informed the PDC that he will be unable to compete due to his injury. His first-game opponent, Ian Branks, will receive a bye.
Two of last year's qualifiers, Gary Welding - who knocked out world number one Colin Lloyd - and Kevin Spiolek, could meet on board 13, while board ten boasts five players with Purfleet experience.
Darren Webster, Dave Honey and Geoff Wylie all qualified last year, and Mark Thomson and Mark Robinson have also competed at the Circus Tavern - while Steve Coote played five times at the Lakeside event.
American duo Ray Carver and Isen Veljic are travelling across the Atlantic in a bid to join John Kuczynski and Bill Davis in the main tournament.
Carib Beer Caribbean & South American Masters winner Vivekanand Dyal will also attempt to qualify for Purfleet, taking on veteran Kevin Spiolek in his first game.
The draw for the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship will take place at Villa Park following the completion of the PDPA Qualifiers.
