THE Professional Darts Corporation have announced the provisional 2007 calendar of tournaments.
The PDC are moving towards a minimum of 25 Pro Tour events to accompany the existing five televised ranking tournaments on the £2 million professional circuit next year.
These Pro Tour tournaments will come from existing events such as Players Championships and UK Open Regional Finals, the latter of which will increase in prize fund to £20,000 from January onwards.
However, there is a possibility that some non-PDC promoted events will also be upgraded to meet the criteria of a minimum prize fund of £20,000.
Details of these events are still being confirmed and those dates in the calendar - signalled in italics - are still provisional.
There will be other events added to this calendar in due course as final arrangements are being organised.
Venues and dates for the 2007 Holsten Premier League Darts will be announced in the coming weeks, with the top six players in the world rankings after the SkyBet World Grand Prix automatically qualifying for the £265,000 event, to be joined by two wildcards.
The Professional Darts Corporation will move from a ranking points system to an Order of Merit from 2 January 2007, with prize money won in ranked tournaments over a two-year period counting towards a player's standing.
