RAY CARVER beat off the challenge from a number of top PDC stars and leading American players to win the Windy City Open in Chicago.
Carver defeated Darin Young 6-0 in Sunday night's final to take the $1,200 first prize and five ranking points.
Denis Ovens and Terry Jenkins both reached the semi-finals to pick up three ranking points, while John Part was among the quarter-finalists.
Andy Jenkins - who is among a number of players battling for a place in the 2007 Holsten Premier League Darts - reached the last 16 before losing to Gary Mawson.
He picked up a single point, while Roland Scholten's run to the last 32 was in vain as he returns to Holland without points or prize money from the event.
Carver's win stands him in good stead for his challenge in the SkyBet World Grand Prix PDPA Qualifiers this coming Friday in Newport.
Isen Veljic, who is also travelling to the UK for the weekend of tournaments, had a good run to the last 16, alongside fellow World Series of Darts qualifiers Jim Widmayer and Dave DePriest.
