ALAN WARRINER-LITTLE has made the decision to become a full-time professional after 20 years on the darts circuit.
The Lancastrian has won the World Grand Prix and reached the World Championship, World Matchplay and World Grand Prix finals during his career.
However, he has always continued his job as a psychiatric nurse working as a councellor for drug addicts alongside his appearances on the professional circuit.
After slipping down the world rankings in the past 18 months, Warriner-Little has now taken the step of becoming a full-time professional - after 27 years working for the NHS - in order to devote more time to the sport.
"Times have changed and to play at the top level in today's game you need to be totally committed to practice and all the events on the circuit," he said.
"If anything gets in the way it can mean you are not at 100 percent, which I was not.
"It was an easy decision - it is something that I have always wanted to do."
