WAYNE MARDLE remains defiant that he will come out of his form slump to qualify for the Holsten Premier League Darts play-offs.
The Essex star has picked up just one point from his opening six Premier League clashes this year - a 7-all draw coming in Bournemouth on Thursday against Colin Lloyd.
He admits that nerves have affected him heavily during this year's campaign, but is desperate to hit back next Thursday in Carlisle when he faces Roland Scholten.
"I got a point against Colin but I played terribly, again," said Mardle.
"My preparation was good but I got up there and I was too nervous.
"You can't play like that and I've got to calm it down. I was so frustrated because I got myself in a great position and after that I was a bag of nerves.
"The bottom line is that I've played badly throughout the whole league so far, but I think that if I can get a win under my belt I've got a chance of climbing up the table.
"A draw's no good to me to be totally honest. I know it's not a loss and it's a step in the right direction, but Colin didn't play well and I was worse.
"Even though I was 7-5 up I was lucky to get away with a draw. For some reason I can't relax when I'm playing in the Premier League.
"I don't know why, but I'll have to approach that a different way next week.
"If I play like me, I will turn it around, but it's so spasmodic. I have one or two great legs and don't look like missing and then drop off again."
