RUSSELL STEWART won the opening Australian Grand Prix event at the weekend, which was held in Jannali.
Stewart defeated Anthony Fleet 6-2 in the final, averaging 95.70 in an impressive display.
Last year's AGP winner and Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship qualifier Brian Roach reached the semi-finals.
Barry Jouannet suffered a first round defeat, but another player with Purfleet experience, Simon Whitlock, reached the last 16, where he fell victim to Fleet.
