THE 2016 PDC European Tour season kicks off on Friday with the opening day of the Dutch Darts Masters in Venray, with all the action being streamed online throughout the weekend.
The £115,000 tournament will be held at the Evenementenhal from Friday February 12-Sunday February 14 as players do battle for the £25,000 first prize.
Scottish ace Robert Thornton has been forced to withdraw through illness after also missing the Betway Premier League on Thursday night. As such, his previously scheduled second round opponent - Ritchie Edhouse or Martin Schindler - will receive a Bye through to the third round.
Friday sees the first round split across two sessions, with the top 16 seeded players entering the fray in Saturday's second round.
Sunday afternoon sees the third round take place before the event concludes on Sunday evening with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in one decisive session.
