ANDY JENKINS moved into the second round of the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship with a 3-1 win over Belgian Patrick Bulen.
The world number eight set up a second round clash with Wayne Jones on Boxing Day with a powerful display.
He began the contest by winning the first leg with a 134 checkout, and took the opening set 3-1.
Bulen hit back with a 102 finish in the next leg, and took the second set 3-2 after Jenkins came back to take it into a decider.
The Belgian qualifier also moved ahead in the third set, but three straight legs from Jenkins saw him move 2-1 ahead in the match.
Despite a fourth maximum of the game from Bulen in the fourth set, Jenkins produced the finishes to complete the victory.
"I probably made it tougher than it was," admitted Jenkins. "I missed a few doubles and he played well.
"I didn't know much about him, but I just wanted to win and get Christmas out of the way - it wouldn't have been much fun at all if I'd lost!
"I played well in the first two sets but let him in a couple of times. I'll hopefully come back better after Christmas, which will suit me more."
