Kevin Painter 2-0 Terry Jenkins (3-1, 3-0)
Sky Bet World Grand Prix First Round
KEVIN PAINTER breezed into the second round of the Sky Bet World Grand Prix with a 2-0 win over Terry Jenkins.
The number seven seed dropped just one leg in an impressive display as he bounced back from a first round exit at the World Matchplay in July.
Painter took the first two legs before Jenkins got off the mark, but proved clinical in his finishing to set up a last 16 clash with Mark Dudbridge.
"I started well and when you're playing people like Terry you've got to get off quickly and score well," he said.
"I certainly did that and if you can get on top of people you make them start thinking.
"Terry won a PDC ranking event two weeks ago, so I knew I was in for a tough game, but I was up for this and I'm happy to get through."
