Sky Bet World Grand Prix First Round
ANDY JENKINS booked his place in the second round of the Sky Bet World Grand Prix with a 2-1 defeat of Bob Anderson in Tuesday's opening match.
Jenkins lost the opening two legs of the clash, but hit back with three successive legs to take the opening set.
Despite a 106 checkout from Jenkins next set, Anderson responded to level the game and move into a decider.
But Jenkins stepped up a gear and hit eight 100-plus scores to pull away and take the final set 3-0 to move into the last 16.
"I'm always a slow starter," admitted Jenkins. "My head normally goes down if I lose the first set but luckily enough I came back with three great legs.
"I hit the 180's at the right time, got a lucky break and took the advantage.
"I've been playing quite well and everything's going well for me at the moment, so we'll see how it goes this week."
