IRISH qualifier Keith Rooney delighted the home crowd by reaching the second round of the Sky Bet World Grand Prix with a 2-1 win over James Wade.
Local lad Rooney trailed Wade after losing the first set 3-1, but won six of the next seven legs to progress to the last 16.
The 24-year-old will take on Dennis Priestley on Wednesday night, he admitted: "It's so exciting, Dennis is an idol of mine and I'm sure the crowd will love it.
"They were behind me all the way tonight and I really enjoyed it.
"I'm delighted but I wish James all the best too, he's a great up and coming player and he'll bounce back."
