FORMER European Tour event winners Steve Beaton and Vincent van der Voort as well as Auckland Darts Masters champion Kyle Anderson will be in action on the opening day of the HappyBet German Darts Grand Prix on Friday.
The £135,000 tournament sees the PDC visit German city Mannheim for the first time from September 8-10, as 48 players compete in the tenth European Tour event of 2017.
The final four spots in the tournament were taken by Host Nation Qualifiers on Thursday night, with Max Hopp progressing to meet Jamie Caven, Bernd Roith setting up a tie with Nathan Aspinall, Martin Schindler now up against Mick McGowan and Michael Hurtz preparing to meet Sweden's Daniel Larsson.
Former European Tour winner Steve Beaton will hope to continue the form which took him to last weekend's Dutch Darts Masters final when he takes on Scotland's Jamie Bain in round one.
2014 Austrian Darts Open champion Vincent van der Voort, one of the eight European Qualifiers who secured spots last Thursday, will come up against Andrew Gilding.
Australian star Anderson meets Dutchman Dirk van Duijvenbode, while Belgium's Ronny Huybrechts takes on Austrian qualifier Zoran Lerchbacher - with both players needing a strong weekend to challenge for Unibet World Grand Prix qualification.
Richard North, who is in line to qualify for the World Grand Prix following this weekend's event, meets Mick Todd in the first round, with the winner set to face World Champion Michael van Gerwen in Saturday's second round.
Two of last weekend's Dutch Darts Masters quarter-finalists, Poland's Krzysztof Ratajski and Welshman Robert Owen, clash in round one, while qualifiers Jermaine Wattimena and Michael Plooy meet in an all-Dutch tie.
Former World Youth Champion Keegan Brown will play James Richardson, World Matchplay quarter-finalist Darren Webster plays youngster Ryan Meikle, former European Tour finalist Jamie Lewis plays Andy Boulton and Paul Rowley meets Belgian debutant Tony Martinez.
Saturday's second round sees the 16 seeded players enter the action against the first round winners, with the tournament then concluding on Sunday with play across two sessions.
Coverage of the HappyBet German Darts Grand Prix will be available for all PDCTV-HD Subscribers worldwide, as well as through a series of bookmakers' websites.
