MARK CLEAVER and Haupai Puha are to gain further World Series of Darts experience after winning the DPNZ Qualifiers to secure spots in Brisbane and Melbourne respectively.
Cleaver (pictured) has previously competed twice in the Auckland Darts Masters, and will now return to the big stage at the inaugural Brisbane Darts Masters.
Puha will make his big-stage debut at August's Auckland Darts Masters, presented by TAB & Burger King, and will then travel to Australia to compete in the Melbourne Darts Masters.
Emerging star Puha overcame experienced Warren Parry 6-3 in the final of the DPNZ's qualifier for the Melbourne event in Invercargill.
He also saw off former Auckland Darts Masters qualifier Darren Herewini and 2018 World Championship qualifier Bernie Smith in the latter stages to seal his place at the Hisense Arena from August 10-12.
Puha came close to securing a spot in a third World Series tournament when he reached the final of the knockout for the Brisbane Darts Masters.
However, he was edged out 6-5 by Cleaver, who also saw off Parry in a deciding leg in the semi-finals.
Tahuna Irwin, who has qualified for both the Auckland Darts Masters and William Hill World Darts Championship in the past week, was a semi-finalist in the Brisbane Darts Masters only to lose out to Puha.
Irwin, though, completed a memorable week in Invercargill with qualification for the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship later in 2018.
The final four places in the Melbourne Darts Masters and Brisbane Darts Masters will be confirmed at the DPA Qualifiers in Warilla from July 22-25.
