DANNY NOPPERT reeled off nine successive legs to run out a convincing 3-0 winner over Royden Lam in round one of the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship.
A nervy opening from both saw Hong Kong World Cup representative Lam took the opening leg, before Noppert warmed to his task, pinning double three for a first break of the match as he took the opening set 3-1.
Dutch debutant Noppert, a ProTour winner in October, rattled through the next two sets without losing a leg and took out a 112 finish to wrap up the win and set up a second round clash with German youngster Max Hopp.
