KYLE ANDERSON moved into the third round of the William Hill World Championship with a 3-1 success over Philippines ace Noel Malicdem at Alexandra Palace.
Malicdem never recovered from four missed darts to lead 2-1 in sets as former Auckland Masters winner Anderson prevailed.
Two-time PDC Asian Tour event winner Malicdem signalled his intentions immediately with a 122 checkout and a brilliant 140 finish but Anderson went on to edge the opening set.
Malicdem took set two in a deciding leg but squandered a quartet of opportunities to move ahead and didn't win another leg as Anderson punished on double ten and rattled through the fourth set 3-1.
