Michael van Gerwen has become the odds-on favourite for the William Hill World Darts Championship following a dramatic weekend of action at Alexandra Palace.
Reigning champion Van Gerwen had been the pre-tournament to claim the Sid Waddell Trophy, with sponsors William Hill making the Dutchman 5/4 to retain the World Championship title.
He overcame Jelle Klaasen in his opening tie on Friday night, and following the exits of second seed Rob Cross on Saturday and 2019 finalist Michael Smith on Sunday, Van Gerwen has now become the odds-on 10/11 favourite.
World number three Gerwyn Price is the 9/2 second favourite ahead of Peter Wright (12/1) and two-time World Champion Gary Anderson, with the 20/1 chance opening his challenge at Alexandra Palace on Monday night against Brendan Dolan.
World Grand Prix finalist Dave Chisnall (22/1) and UK Open champion Nathan Aspinall (25/1) sit ahead of 33/1 shots Daryl Gurney and Glen Durrant in the betting, with James Wade 40/1 to claim his maiden World Championship.
