The race to qualify for the 2024 BoyleSports World Grand Prix continues with Players Championships 22-23 this week.
Leicester’s Mattioli Arena will play host to this week’s ProTour double-header on September 24-25, with Michael van Gerwen headlining the 128-player field following his run of back-to-back ranking titles.
There are just two Players Championship events and a solitary European Tour event remaining before the qualification cut-off, as the battle to secure a place in next month's showpiece continues.
The 2024 BoyleSports World Grand Prix will take place in Leicester from October 7-13, as 32 of the world's top stars compete for the coveted double-start crown.
The tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, through the PDC's worldwide broadcast partners including DAZN and Viaplay, and on PDCTV (excluding subscribers based in the UK, Germany, Austria & Switzerland).
The top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit will compete in the £600,000 event alongside 16 further qualifiers from the one-year ProTour Order of Merit, with the top eight players on the PDC Order of Merit set to be seeded.
Reigning champion Luke Humphries will headline the 32-player field on his return to the East Midlands, with six-time champion Michael van Gerwen set to star alongside world number two Michael Smith.
Rob Cross, Nathan Aspinall and Dave Chisnall will also feature, with former champions Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton currently amongst the provisional seeds.
Teenage sensation Luke Littler will head up the ProTour Order of Merit Qualifiers, as he prepares to make his double-start debut along with Gian van Veen, Ricardo Pietreczko, Ritchie Edhouse and Cameron Menzies.
Scottish icon Gary Anderson will also make his big stage return alongside 2017 champion Daryl Gurney and Dutch veteran Raymond van Barneveld – a runner-up in 2008 and 2009.
Two-time winner James Wade looks set to make his 20th consecutive World Grand Prix appearance next month, after moving £7,000 clear of the qualification cut-off with three events remaining.
Luke Woodhouse currently occupies the final provisional ProTour place, with Gabriel Clemens leading the chasing pack that includes Dirk van Duijvenbode, Andrew Gilding and Jermaine Wattimena.
