Beau Greaves claimed back-to-back PDC Women’s Series titles in Leicester on Sunday, as she continued her magnificent start to 2025.
Greaves has enjoyed a superb start to the year, winning a brace of Winmau Challenge Tour titles last month, which subsequently earned her a PDC ProTour debut in Wigan last week.
Following a title apiece for Lisa Ashton and Fallon Sherrock on Saturday, Greaves returned to winning ways at the Mattioli Arena, winning 13 straight matches to round off the opening weekend of Women's Series action in style.
The Doncaster darter relinquished just four legs on her way to Event Three glory, which she sealed with a 5-1 victory over Robyn Byrne – aided by a majestic 164 checkout in the opening leg.
Greaves had kicked off her campaign with a 4-1 success against Noa-Lynn van Leuven, as the top two players on last year’s Women’s Series Order of Merit went head-to-head in a blockbuster tie.
The 21-year-old backed that up with a trio of whitewash wins over Marlene Barcelos, Steph Clarke and Chelsea Campbell, before seeing off her great rival Fallon Sherrock in the quarter-finals.
Greaves avenged her defeat to Sherrock in Saturday’s Event Two showpiece with a thumping 5-1 victory, and she also defeated Jo Locke and Byrne by the same scoreline to scoop the £2,000 top prize.
The reigning Women’s World Matchplay champion extended her winning run in Event Four, despite surviving an early scare against Portugal’s Barcelos in round one.
Greaves then recorded comfortable wins over Holly Glet and Maret Liiri, and she booked her place in a third consecutive Women’s Series finals with emphatic victories over Ashton and Kirsi Viinikainen.
This set up a showdown against Gemma Hayter, and following eight straight holds of throw, Greaves produced a 14-dart break in the decider to clinch her record-extending 30th Women’s Series crown.
“I am really enjoying the game at the minute, and that’s a big part of my game,” reflected Greaves.
“I am trying to push myself this year. I played at Q School, I’ve had some good wins on the Challenge Tour and I have played my first ProTour now.
“I am trying to work my way up the PDC system and it’s going well. Obviously I’m not always going to play well, I am going to have bad games, and I know that.
“You have a target on your back, but I quite enjoy that side of the game, and I am just focused on enjoying every game that I play.”
Hayter averaged 93 in defeat against Greaves, having earlier accounted for Locke and Portugal’s Neuza Araujo to progress to her second Women’s Series final in as many days.
Ireland’s Byrne also impressed on Sunday, overcoming Anastasia Dobromyslova, Natalie Gilbert and 16-year-old star Paige Pauling to secure her spot in the Event Three decider.
However, Greaves boasts a £2,300 lead at the top of the Women’s Series Order of Merit following Event Four, with Ashton and Sherrock making up the top three, ahead of Hayter in fourth spot.
The top eight players on the rolling Women's Series Order of Merit after Event 12 will qualify for the 2025 Betfred Women's World Matchplay, which takes place on July 27 at the Winter Gardens.
Additionally, the top two players from the final PDC Women's Series Order of Merit will qualify to compete in the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship, alongside the winner of the 2025 Women's World Matchplay.
The PDC Women's Series will continue with Events 5-8 in Leicester on March 8-9, with live coverage getting underway from approximately 1000 GMT on PDCTV.
