Oskar Lukasiak and Jonas Masalin secured titles as the 2025 PDC Nordic & Baltic ProTour season began in Riga last weekend.

Swedish star Lukasiak clinched his second Nordic & Baltic ProTour title on Saturday, before Finnish thrower Masalin broke new ground with a sensational win to round off the weekend.

Lukasiak clinched a PDC Tour Card for the first time at last month’s European Qualifying School, and he maintained his strong start to 2025 with Event One success on Saturday.

The World Cup quarter-finalist won through a trio of deciding-leg tussles on his way to the title, which he sealed with a dramatic 6-5 victory over his compatriot Andreas Harrysson.

Lukasiak kicked off his campaign in similar fashion, winning through a last-leg clash against Valters Melderis before easing past Tommy Pilblad and Niels Heinsoe to reach the quarter-finals.

There, he came through another 11-leg tie against Paavo Myller, and after battling past Andreas Hyllgaardhus in the last four, he overturned a 4-1 deficit to deny Harrysson in a thrilling finale.

Masalin also prevailed in a deciding-leg clash in Sunday’s Event Two showpiece, producing legs of 14, 11, 15, 12, 14 and 15 darts to defeat his fellow countryman Teemu Harju with a 98 average.

This was preceded by a comfortable semi-final win over Turkka Nieminen, while he registered a 100.2 average in a quarter-final whitewash of Kent Joran Sivertsen.

Earlier in the day, Masalin opened his challenge with a narrow victory over Sweden’s Anton Ostlund, and he also accounted for Janis Pinka, Peter Jensen and Darius Labanauskas en route to glory.

Labanauskas enjoyed a successful weekend of his own in the Latvian capital, winning through two of the three European Tour Qualifiers held across the year’s opening weekend of action.

The former World Championship quarter-finalist stormed through the ET1 Qualifier in emphatic style, conceding just nine legs in five matches to book his place in next month’s Belgian Darts Open.

Following wins over Johan Engstrom, Niklas Olsson and Jarno Korkalainen, Labanauskas won four straight legs from 3-2 down to deny Ivan Springborg, before averaging almost 99 in a 6-2 demolition of Harrysson.

Labanauskas will also feature in April’s International Darts Open, after winning six of the last seven legs to defeat Sweden’s Par Riihonen 6-3 in the final of Saturday's ET3 Qualifier.

The Lithuanian was clinical throughout the event, seeing off Pilblad, Marko Kantele, Pétur Rúðrik Guðmundsson, Ralfs Laumanis and Springborg to seal his place in Riesa.

Kantele, meanwhile, will make his European Tour return in Gottingen next month following his victory in Friday’s ET2 Qualifier.

The Finnish veteran edged out Harrysson in a last-leg thriller to confirm his qualification for the European Darts Trophy, wrapping up proceedings with a 13-dart hold.

Kantele also defeated Harju, Bent Lambertsen, Dmitriy Zhukov and Melderis, recovering from 5-3 adrift to topple former World Cup star Zhukov in the quarter-finals.

The 2025 Nordic & Baltic ProTour season continues from March 28-30, as ProTour Events 3-4 and Qualifiers for ET4-6 take place in Gothenburg, Sweden.
