DPNZ double for Hurring in Christchurch

John Hurring (DPNZ)

John Hurring enjoyed a double win as the DPNZ ProTour continued in Christchurch on March 22-23.

The three-time World Series of Darts event qualifier edged out Ben Robb in both finals to take the top prize in Event Three and Event Four.

In Event Three, Hurring overcame Levi Koroheke, Jack Sheppard, Jaymie Hilton-Jones and Kayden Milne in the knockout phase.

He then edged out Robb 7-6 in the final, coming from 3-1 down with a run of three straight legs before eventually closing out victory in a deciding leg.

Event Four saw Hurring see off Kerrin Robinson, Marc Cossey, Taylor Teinaki and Haunui Hira to reach the final, where he this time defeated Robb by a 7-5 margin after opening up a commanding 51 lead.

Whilst Robb made two finals, Jonny Tata reached a brace of semi-finals over the weekend, while Mark Cleaver - who won Events One and Two earlier in 2025 - was a double quarter-finalist.

The next DPNZ weekend will be held on April 26-27 in Nelson, where ProTour Events 5-6 will take place.
