Price Remains Favourite Ahead Of Aspinall Showdown
Michael van Gerwen has been made odds-on favourite for his grudge match with Peter Wright on a star-studded semi-final night at the BoyleSports World Grand Prix in Leicester.
Three of the world’s top four remain in contention and the Dutchman is now a 9/4 shot from 4/1 to win the tournament for a sixth time after a stunning quarter-final performance against Chris Dobey which included five ton-plus finishes.
Van Gerwen is winning the battle in the betting for the blockbuster showdown with Wright and is set to start 8/11 favourite to come out on top in a repeat of the 2018 final.
Speaking about his semi-final clash with Wright, a bullish Van Gerwen told BoyleSports: "He’s a phenomenal player, but you never know what you’re up against.
"When I do what I did tonight, he’s got no chance. But I have to do it again and that’s a different story."
Gerwyn Price however remains favourite for a second BoyleSports World Grand Prix crown and has shortened to 6/4 from 3/1 following his whitewash of Latvian Madars Razma.
Nathan Aspinall is now a 6/1 shot from his pre-tournament price of 40/1, but remains the outsider of the final four.
