Scott Campbell picked up his maiden Winmau Challenge Tour title after an assured 5-3 win over Dan Hands in Hildesheim on Sunday.

The Scotsman overcame a 221-player pool at Halle 39 to secure the £2,500 top prize and rise to sixth in the Challenge Tour Order of Merit.

Campbell whitewashed Jan Dueckers in his opening game, before edging past Ryan O’Connor 5-4.

The 35-year-old then posted four consecutive averages above 90 to see past Frankie Ansell, Ted Evetts, Jamai van den Herik and James Beeton to reach the semi-finals.

This run included a whitewash win over Event Nine winner Evetts, as Campbell averaged over 98 in his best performance of the day.

Campbell defeated Jacques Labre 5-3 in the semi-finals, before comfortably defeating Hands in the final thanks to another strong average of over 91.

The victory marks the Scot’s first Challenge Tour title of his career, pocketing £2,500 from the £15,000 prize pool on offer in Event Ten.

Hands was also bidding for his first Challenge Tour win, but despite whitewashing Colin Gibson 5-0 and defying Levy Frauenfelder 5-2 in the semi-finals, fell short to Campbell in the final.

Darius Labanauskas, who won two events this weekend, sits comfortably at the top of the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, over £3,000 clear of second-placed Beau Greaves, who did not participate in Hildesheim.

The 2025 Winmau Challenge Tour continues with Events 11-15 at the Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes from May 2-4.

The top two players from the final 2025 Challenge Tour Order of Merit will secure a PDC Tour Card for 2026/27 and a place in the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship.
